EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Spider Access since 2009 has been undertaking various installation and maintenance projects using a variety of access methodologies which included Rope Access, MEWP, BMU and access platforms & Scaffolding.

SCOPE OF WORK
Spider access were awarded both installation of lighting systems, erection and fit out of the lotus steel structure. All of which was undertaken by Rope access. This included a 60 Ton steel supported shade structure with each section of steel, and GRC meticulously lifted over the infinity pool at level 22.
Following that, spider access installed an individual designed chandelier of 10-12 meter, and 500kg. To take such weight, we had to reinforce all the steel members using welded support plates and NDT testing to enhance the steel support which proved a successful outcome.

CHALLENGES & SOLUTION
Our main challenges come in the form of accessibility and lifting techniques since we were not able to utilize the tower cranes at site. Therefore, a complex lifting rig was designed through rope access strategies to ensure the pieces were lifted safely, efficiently and without impacting other ongoing site activities.

Technicians are trained at various levels; we deploy rope access teams that are IRATA certified and further train them to get their IPAF & PASMA certification as well.
